Upcoming East Gippsland Jobs Expo, an opportunity for you to meet your next potential team member

East Gippsland Marketing Inc (EGMI) together with Gippsland Jobs Expo and The East Gippsland Shire Council (EGSC) are bringing back the Jobs Expo to East Gippsland with a new take on how we connect and engage employers with job seekers.

The East Gippsland - Gippsland Jobs Expo is being held on Thursday 24th of August from 9.30am-2.30pm at Cremin Hall in Bairnsdale. It will provide an opportunity for job seekers to meet with employers and talk to them about real and current jobs, apprenticeship opportunities and career pathways within East Gippsland.

​​One of the biggest challenges that small businesses face is attracting skilled workers who can help the business achieve its goals. It can be difficult for small, unknown companies to attract applications from qualified candidates. So the East Gippsland Jobs Expo Job is a great opportunity to get involved.

So, if you are a business who is looking to recruit their next team member, this is your chance to get involved. This expo is a way for you to conduct short, informal interviews over the course of a few hours. You will have the opportunity to talk to real people face to face about real jobs. Face-to-face meeting time allows you to put a human face on resumes and give extra attention to strong candidates.

Forget about pamphlets, slide shows and small talk, this expo is about actually putting you right in front of potential new employees and speaking to them directly about what you are looking for in your business.

EGMI Executive Officer Liz Whitehill said that the way we look at employment opportunities has changed. “Covid has provided us with an option to look at employment arrangements through a different lens, allowing us to see opportunities that have not been previously explored” she said.

We will be having a physical jobs board up on the day where you can advertise any positions you may have a available. Or, we can even take it one step further….Have you thought about collaborating with other businesses in the same industry?
