What does EGMI do?
EGMI (East Gippsland Marketing Inc) is the marketing body for East Gippsland. We promote the region as a place to visit, live, work and invest. We are partly funded by East Gippsland Shire and also the business community across East Gippsland. We work closely with Destination Gippsland, East Gippsland Shire, Food and Fibre Gippsland, GLaWAC, the Business and Tourism Associations and Chambers of Commerce to collaborate on projects and communicate why East Gippsland is a great place to be.
East Gippsland Marketing Inc promote our region as an amazing place to visit, live, work and invest.
We do this in a variety of ways including:
- Working with other tourism organisations and maximising opportunities for our region.
- Working with media so that they know some of the great businesses, people, places and product we have here.
- Utilising social and online media as a cost-effective way of reaching a large number of people to showcase East Gippsland (Love East Gippsland Facebook page and Supporting East Gippsland Businesses Facebook group).
- Creating business opportunities so that strong networks can be formed, partnerships made and small businesses can thrive.
Who is EGMI?
EGMI is East Gippsland Marketing Incorporated. We are a not-for-profit association located in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland. EGMI is run by three part-time staff members and is managed by a volunteer board made up of business leaders from across East Gippsland.

Is EGMI the same as East Gippsland Shire?
No. We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation.
