East Gippsland Marketing Board Members

The members of the East Gippsland Marketing Board all share a passion for sustainable economic development in the East Gippsland region.

The organisation was brought to life from the need to have a coordinated approach to regional marketing and to work closely with the local business community to encourage cooperation and involvement. 

 

 

Bob Carter | Chair

Bob Carter is the Managing Director and founder of Connexion PR, an integrated consultancy based in Bairnsdale with a national client base spread through Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. In addition to Bob's long-standing reputation and experience as a marketing professional he is a passionate supporter and advocate of the East Gippsland region.

Bob and his wife Brenda live on the Gippsland Lakes, allowing them together with their extended family, to enjoy their passion for boating.

 

Jamie Savory | Deputy Chair

Jaime has extensive experience in the Banking and Finance sector; in most recent times as Bank Manager of the Commonwealth Bank in Bairnsdale. She moved to East Gippsland as a child and completed her tertiary educations through RMIT (Bairnsdale Campus) but returned to Melbourne for a few years in the Business Banking sector for the CBA.  Recently she has started her own company, Gippsland Finance Solutions to be able to have a better work/life balance.

Being raised in East Gippsland, Jamie decided to return and now is married and has three young children. Her passion is supporting and encouraging our younger generation to realise they can have both a career in East Gippsland and the lifestyle of the country.

 

Tim Morrison | Treasurer

Tim commenced with Crowe Horwath in 2007 as an accountant in the Braeside office. Tim came to Crowe Horwath with a wealth of knowledge, having previously worked for a medium sized accounting firm in Melbourne who specialised in the motor industry and high net worth individuals.

Coming from a regional background, Tim has relished the opportunity to return to regional Victoria by accepting the position as Principal of the Bairnsdale office.

Tim's expertise has allowed him to provide business advisory and taxation services to a range of SMEs. 

 

Ian Harrison

A former resident of Melbourne, Ian and his wife came for a holiday, and stayed for good. They now call Metung home, and run a successful Accommodation and Tourist Information business.

Ian is an active member of the Metung Business and Tourism Association and is Chairman of Business and Tourism East Gippsland. 

Keen sailors, Ian and his wife were first attracted to the region by its fantastic waterways. Now Ian often sails to work.

 

Therese Tierney

Therese is a highly valued member of the East Gippsland Community and plays an important role as Chief Executive Officer of Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, and prior to this, Orbost Regional Health.

Therese recognised the responsibility of leading the largest employer in each of these communities, which in turn has led Therese to be involved in broader issues affecting the community and now has a vested interest in the growth of East Gippsland.

Whist Therese primarily works in the health sector, she has also had significant involvement in the local government sector in both capacities; Councilor and officer. This diversity of experience has created a recognition and understanding of the power and value of the community.

Additionally, Therese has been involved in a number of roles that focus on strategic planning and thinking, as well as developing initiatives.

 

Bryan McCormick

Bryan is the Chief Executive Officer of Workways Australia Ltd. Workways started in Bairnsdale in 1989 with one office and now has 35 offices across eastern Victoria and southern New South Wales. 

Starting his professional career as a Solicitor, he practiced successfully for over 20 years with highlights including an appointment as a Supreme Court Mediator and retention by both the Victorian Trades Hall and VECCI to conduct workplace relations litigation on behalf of their members.

Bryan is the Victorian representative on the National Committee for Open Employment which advises government on employment policy. He also won the national Job Futures network Leadership Award in 2012.

 

 

 

Martin Richardson

Martin Richardson was born and raised in Paynesville and can trace his family connections in East Gippsland back to the 1870s. Martin studied in Melbourne and Hobart, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Geography and a Masters of Town Planning.

His professional career has included senior management roles in State and Local government in Tasmania, Western Australia and Victoria working in strategic planning, transport and infrastructure, economic development, tourism and environmental management.

Martin returned with his family to East Gippsland in 2008 and has since held positions as Manager Strategic Planning for East Gippsland Shire and Executive Officer for the Gippsland Lakes Ministerial Advisory Committee.

Martin now operates his own consulting business, ‘The Right Man’ and is involved in a volunteer capacity in several local community enterprises and activities.

 

 

Courtney Campbell

Courtney is a Private Town Planning Consultant with multiple interests in our region. She has been a resident of East Gippsland for almost 20 years and lives in Bruthen with her husband and two children.

Courtney has extensive experience in the land development industry having previously worked with one of the largest development consultant companies in Victoria, Beveridge Williams and Co, and also as a Town Planner for the East Gippsland Shire Council. Courtney is currently a Director of the family owned and operated transport company Blair and Campbell Pty Ltd. 

Additionally, Courtney is an active member of the community being involved in strategic working groups and various local sporting clubs.

 

 

David Cameron

David resides in Bruthen with his wife and two children. Raised in rural East Gippsland, he is the founder and managing director of Cameron Outdoor. He enjoys being involved with football and cricket with his son and enjoys boating the Gippsland Lakes.

David is a passionate East Gippslander and looks to represent the trade sector on the EGMI Board. 

 

Adam Bloem

Adam Bloem

Adam Bloem joins the EGMI Board with many years experience in sales, marketing and event management. Over the last 5 years Adam has worked on major events around Australia including the Good Food & Wine Show, Taste Festivals, Margaret River Gourmet Escape and the Australian Health & Fitness Expo, among others. 

Adam grew up in Paynesville in a family owned and operated tourist park, which helped begin his passion for promoting the region and doing his bit to help increase tourism.

Since moving back to East Gippsland, Adam has been working on several local events including the Groundswell Music Festival and The Producers Picnic. He looks forward to contributing his expertise to further drive tourism and deliver an economic benefit to local businesses and the wider community.

 

Chris Martin

Chris Martin

Chris Martin is a lifelong resident of Bairnsdale (3rd generation) and is passionate about the area and its growth. Chris is the Managing Director of the King and Heath group, and has over 34 years real estate experience.

Chris is also a board member of Auswide Management Limited (a property investment Trustee), has been on the Bairnsdale Racing Club committee for over 30 years and is a Life member of the Wy Yung Football and Netball Club.

Chris was an inaugural member of the East Gippsland Marketing Inc board for from 2009-2011, where he stepped down due to work commitments.

 

Patrick Carson

Patrick Carson

Patrick Carson and his wife Lucy moved to Metung just before their first daughter was born, to be closer to her family. Lucy is a 5th generation East Gippslander with relatives all over the region.

Patrick is Designer and Business Manager at SLAP Architects, where the bulk of the commissions are  commercial in nature and range from high level Master Planning to small fit outs.

Prior to relocating from Sydney, Patrick was the studio Manager for Davenport Campbell, a large Interior Design firm. Patrick has worked with clients such as IBM and CBA, where the focus was on process and efficiency of accommodation. 

 

Simon Anderson

Simon Anderson is a prominent local entity who heads Simon Anderson Consulting, a Bairnsdale based engineering consultancy.

Established in 1992, the business has experienced rapid growth with branch offices now operating in Sale and Geelong.

Simon Anderson Consulting received the acclaimed Outstanding Achievement award 2017 Federation University East Gippsland Business Awards.
